CHENNAI: Former Chief Justice of the

Kerala high court

Justice S Manikumar has been appointed as the chairmen of the

State Human Rights Commission

(SHRC) in Tamil Nadu.
Justice Manikumar will serve as the head of the commission for three years or till he attains the age of seventy years, whichever is earlier, the order issued by Tamil Nadu governor R N Ravi said.
Justice Manikumar, who was elevated as a judge of the Madras high court in 2006, served in the HC till 2019. In Oct 2019, he was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Kerala high court.
He retired from service on April 23, 2023.
