, according to reports from the

on Monday night. The deal, reportedly a three-year agreement, is anticipated to pay

an annual salary between $12 million and $17 million, pending the successful completion of a physical examination.

Soler's decision to join the Giants comes after opting out of the final year of his previous contract with the Miami Marlins, where he spent the past two seasons. In the 2023 season, Soler achieved all incentives tied to plate appearances, which would have entitled him to a $13 million salary for 2024 under the terms of his former deal.

Known for his powerful hitting from the right side of the plate, the 31-year-old

Cuban native

showcased his prowess in the 2021 season, belting 36 home runs, marking the second-highest total of his career. Notably, Soler led the American League in home runs with 48 while playing for the Kansas City Royals in 2019.

Soler's impressive track record includes a World Series championship with the Chicago Cubs in 2016, where he contributed as a reserve player. However, it was his standout performance in the 2021 World Series with the Atlanta Braves that earned him the prestigious title of World Series MVP. Throughout the series, Soler displayed his hitting prowess by batting .300, smashing three home runs, and driving in six runs during the Braves' victorious six-game series against the Houston Astros.

During his tenure with the Miami Marlins in 2022-23, Soler maintained solid offensive production, boasting a .250 batting average along with a .341 on-base percentage and a .512 slugging percentage. Across his career spanning 870 games, Soler has compiled impressive statistics, including a .243 batting average, a .330 on-base percentage, and a .467 slugging percentage, with 170 home runs and 452 RBIs.
Soler's journey in

Major League Baseball

has seen him represent multiple teams, including the Chicago Cubs (2014-2016), the Kansas City Royals (2017-2021), the Atlanta Braves (part of 2021), and most recently, the Miami Marlins. With his potent hitting abilities and championship experience, Soler brings a valuable asset to the San Francisco Giants as they look to bolster their roster for the upcoming season.
