during India's second innings in the

third Test

of the five-match series at Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot.
Root's 100 wickets are distributed across formats as follows: 67 in Tests, 27 in ODIs, and 6 in T20Is.

In his international career spanning 341 matches, Root has maintained an average of 46.96 and an economy of 3.92, with his best bowling figures being 5/8.

It's worth noting that

holds the record for being England's highest wicket-taker across all formats with a remarkable tally of 983 international wickets. Root's achievement adds to his versatility as a player, contributing both with the bat and the ball at the highest level of the game.
In the ongoing Test, England found themselves bundled out for 319 in their first innings in response to India's 445. Opener
