Jase Richardson had to make one big change to flush his first half performance on Friday

1 week ago 7

Michigan State basketball opened the 2025 NCAA Tournament with an 87-62 victory over Bryant to move on to the round of 32.

The game against the Bulldogs was truly a tale of two halves for the Spartans, who had a lackluster first half, before a dominating second half performance. MSU star freshman Jase Richardson was not immune to the tale of two halves.

In the first half, Richardson went 1-for-4 from the field, only scoring two points, but in the second half, Richardson exploded for 13 points on 4-for-7 shooting.

So what changed? Well, one thing is for sure, Richardson came out of halftime with a new pair of shoes. Maybe, the second half shoes for Richardson had some more magic than the shoes he had in the first half. One thing we may know for sure, though, Richardson probably will not be bringing those first half shoes out again.
