Jaiswal, who became the third youngest Indian to achieve a Test double ton at 22 years and 36 days, showcased his aggressive yet adaptable playing style during the match. Jwala Singh underlined Jaiswal's history of achieving big scores in junior cricket, including several double centuries.
Speaking about Jaiswal's versatility, Jwala Singh commented, "In T20 cricket, he plays with a different attitude. In Test cricket, he plays with a different approach. His adaptability and temperament are really different from others, making him stand out."
During the pandemic-induced break, Jaiswal dedicated significant time to refining his game through extensive batting sessions. Jwala Singh recalled Jaiswal's initial apprehensions about his career post the 2021
IPL and stressed the importance of evolving playing styles.
Taking Jaiswal to his hometown in Gorakhpur, Jwala Singh encouraged him to aggressively face spinners, emphasizing the importance of plastic-ball practice for specific shots.
Jwala Singh highlighted that this period of practice was crucial to Jaiswal's transformation, stating, "It was that point when he really transformed himself from a junior or domestic player to a good top-level player."
Recalling his motivational message to Jaiswal during his formative years, Jwala Singh underscored the significance of creating one's own place through exceptional performance rather than attempting to replace others.
Jaiswal's recent double century against England in Visakhapatnam has solidified his status as a rising star in Indian cricket, promising an exciting career ahead.
