NEW DELHI: After suffering a defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Mumbai Indians leg spinner

Piyush Chawla

acknowledged that it was an off day for the team, as they were unable to perform well.
He credited the KKR bowlers for their excellent bowling, stating, "Sometimes it happens that things are not going your way and the other team comes and bowls in really good areas.

It was just one off day."

Chawla emphasized that Mumbai Indians will now focus on playing for their pride and reputation in the remaining matches of the tournament. "We are going to play for our pride and reputation because sometimes you enter the field you never know whether you are going to qualify or not. You have to play for your name and that's what we are playing for," he asserted.

The leg-spinner highlighted the importance of momentum in T20 cricket and acknowledged that the team hasn't been able to gain it so far in the current season. He mentioned that it can happen to any team and is not specific to Mumbai Indians.

Chawla also praised star India pacer

Jasprit Bumrah

, calling him one of the best bowlers not only in India but worldwide. "Bumrah is one of the best not only in India but all around the world. He always shows why he is number 1. No matter what the condition, how the wicket is, what the oppositions are. He is always there that's why he is one step ahead of any bowler," he concluded.
