In the recently held Assembly elections, one slogan resonated with voters and BJP workers -- 'Modi ki Guarantee'. It helped the BJP win three Hindi heartland states and strengthened Prime Minister Narendra Modi's image as the electoral game-changer. The poll result in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan were like vote of confidence for 'Modi ki Guarantee'.
But what does 'Modi ki guarantee' mean, especially in the run-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections? In an exclusive conversation with India Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said 'Modi is guarantee' is not mere words or election promises, but the outcome of his decades of hard work.

"It is an expression of sensitivity towards society. When I talk about the 'guarantee', I bind myself to it. It doesn’t let me sleep, it propels me to work harder, it leads me to give my everything for the people of the country. So please don’t look for a dictionary meaning of guarantee," PM Modi said.
But what is PM Modi's definition of 'guarantee'? According to the Prime Minister, "Modi’s guarantee is not a formula made for winning elections, Modi’s guarantee is the trust of the poor".
"Only someone who has experienced a life of poverty understands that the greatest force propelling a poor person forward in life is their trust, their hope. This faith of the poor is what keeps me going. Modi will put in his all but will not let the trust of his poor brothers and sisters break," PM Modi said.

"Today every poor person in the country knows that Modi will not back down from his duty. Today, every poor person is aware of how political parties in the past have broken their trust. But they also know that Modi’s guarantee can be trusted. This trust of the poor also gives me my energy — even if I completely exhaust myself or push myself over my limit, I will not let this trust be violated," PM Modi added.
