Ishan Kishan
will miss the two-Test series against South Africa, starting December 26, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in a release on Sunday.
Kishan had requested to be released citing personal reasons and the board subsequently acknowledged his request.
KS Bharat
has been named as the replacement for Kishan for the series.
Earlier, injured pacer Mohammed Shami too was ruled out for the Test series in the Rainbow Nation after he failed to regain full fitness.

, who didn't feature in the preceding T20I and ODI series will return to lead the Test squad against the Proteas.
