NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Car owners can feel a sense of relief as Alternate Side Parking is suspended on Tuesday and Wednesday in observance of the Lunar New Year.
While parking rules are suspended, drivers are reminded that parking within 15 feet of either side of a fire hydrant is illegal and that painted curbs at hydrant locations do not indicate where they can park.
Cars parked near fire hydrants will be ticketed. Parking meters will remain in effect citywide.
ASP will also be suspended for three days in February after the City Council passed a bill to suspend parking rules for Losar, the Tibetan Buddhist New Year.
The two other scheduled days are Feb. 12 for Lincoln’s birthday and Feb. 17 for President’s Day
