Aamir Khan's daughter, Ira Khan, will marry her long-term boyfriend, Nupur Shikhare on January 3, 2024. Recently, photos from her pre-wedding ceremony went viral. And now, IndiaToday.in has learnt exclusive details about their wedding reception.
IRA-NUPUR'S RECEPTION DETAILS
Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare will have a Maharashtrian wedding on January 3. Before that, the couple took part in pre-wedding festivities that was attended by their families and close friends. While that's about the wedding, IndiaToday.in has learnt exclusive details about the soon-to-wed duo's reception.
Ira and Nupur will host a grand reception in Mumbai following their intimate wedding. The starry reception is expected to be attended by the who's who of Bollywood. The wedding reception is likely to take place after January 10. More details on the same are awaited.
IRA-NUPUR'S PRE-WEDDING FESTIVITIES
Ira Khan recently shared glimpses from her Maharashtrian Kelvan, a pre-wedding celebration. Photos from the event show Ira's friend-actress Mithila Palkar, Aamir Khan’s ex-wife Kiran Rao, and their son Azad Rao Khan, apart from other family members in attendance.
Ira looked beautiful in a maroon saree with a sequinned blouse. Nupur wore a kurta-pyjama with a safa (turban).
Ira also shared a video where she said, "My God guys, get married to a Maharashtrian and get a Kelvan. How fun is this?”
AAMIR KHAN ON IRA'S WEDDING
In an interview with News18, Aamir Khan had first confirmed that the wedding will take place at the beginning of 2024. Aamir confirmed the date and said, "Ira is getting married on January 3. The boy she has chosen is - waise toh pet name unka naam Popoye hai (his pet name is Popeye) — he is trainer, he has arms like Popoye but his name is Nupur. He is a lovely boy. When Ira was battling depression, he was with her. He is really someone who has stood by her and emotionally supported her. I am happy that they are so happy together. They are very well connected, they really look after each other and care for each other."
For the unaware, Nupur is also Aamir Khan's fitness coach. Ira met him in 2020 and they immediately developed a good bond. Over the last three years, they spent quality time with each other. After being in a relationship for a long time, they decided to formalise their union and make it official.
