Stubbs, who is having a successful IPL season, came up with another big-hitting show on Tuesday, where he scored 41 off just 20 balls during Delhi Capitals' 20-run win over Rajasthan Royals.
After the match, the 23-year-old batsman talked about how some of the hockey skills are benefitting him in executing a few shots, especially the sweep.
"I think initially I learned the basics from hockey and I have practised them a lot...the way I turn my hands for the spinners and seam is like I am holding a hockey stick. So it must come from there. Both sweeps actually, getting down low, definitely come from hockey," he said in the video.
Scoring at a strike rate of 188.16, Stubbs has so far amassed 318 runs in 11 innings for the Delhi Capitals, including two fifties. His tally of runs includes a staggering 22 sixes.
Delhi (221 for 8) defeated Rajasthan (201 for 8) to stay alive in the race to playoffs.
