NEW DELHI: The city of Hyderabad experienced heavy rainfall on Thursday, but the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) won't be too concerned about the possibility of their Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Gujarat Titans being washed out due to the weather conditions.
If the match is called off, then the teams will be awarded one point each, with SRH sealing their place in the
IPL 2024
playoffs.
Currently, SRH team has 14 points from 12 matches and occupies the fourth spot in the standings. If the match is abandoned, their points tally will increase to 15.
Among the teams still vying for a playoff berth - Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Super Giants - only CSK will have the opportunity to surpass SRH's points tally.
Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals are the only two teams that have already secured their play-off spots in the tournament.
