International balloon festival begins near Pollachi

COIMBATORE: The ninth edition of Tamil Nadu

International Balloon Festival

(TNIBF) began at

Achipatti

near

Pollachi

in Coimbatore district on Saturday morning.
Pollachi Chamber of Commerce president GD Gopalakrishnan inaugurated the balloon festival hosted by Tamil Nadu Tourism in collaboration with Global Media Box.

Hot air balloons from the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Japan, Thailand and Vietnam are featured in the festival.

“Pilots from across the globe are in Achipatti near Pollachi to fly these hot air balloons. There are different types of hot air balloons from other countries,” said Benedict Savio, founder of TNIBF and event director of Global Media Box.

The festival will go on held till January 16.
