Instagram rolling out "Add Yours" template for Stories, here's how it works

11 months ago 23

After introducing templates for

Reels

,

Instagram

is bringing templates for Stories, allowing users to create their own custom templates. The feature called “Add Yours,” lets users pin GIFs, text, and images to a

Stories

template, which then they can share with others.
To create an Add Yours template, users can add GIFs, text, and images to their own story. They can then select the '

Add Yours templates

' option from the Sticker Tray and choose the elements they want to include in the template.

Once a user shares an Add Yours template in their Story, anyone else can use it and add their own touches.
If a user wants to use someone else's template, they can tap on the 'Add Yours' prompt when they see it in their Story. This will take them to the Camera, where they can see all the elements that are part of the template and customise it by adding their own text, images, and GIFs. The faces that appear on the left side of the sticker allow users to see who else has put their own spin on the template.
Instagram's “Add Yours” template for Stories is now rolling out to users globally.

Instagram also has an "Add Yours" sticker for Stories, which was introduced in 2021. The custom templates are built on the feature, allowing users to add their own twist to prompts.
As for Reels, Instagram has a "template browser" that was introduced for Reels in July, where users can customise pre-made templates for their videos.
Earlier this week, Instagram also introduced a generative AI-powered background editing tool which allows users to change the background of their images through prompts for Stories. There is also an AI-powered sticker creation tool, which lets users create stickers from text prompts.
