JAMMU: The Army said Saturday that an infiltration bid from

Pakistan

was foiled along the border in the

Akhnoor

area of Jammu and that terrorists were seen “dragging one body back”.
The abortive attempt was mounted at a time when massive search operations were on to flush out the terrorists who ambushed and killed four soldiers two days ago in

Poonch

, around 200km away.

According to the army’s White Knight Corps, four terrorists were caught in surveillance equipment trying to sneak in late Friday night in Akhnoor. “Infiltration bid foiled in

IB sector

of Khour, Akhnoor. Effective fire brought down (terrorists),”

White Knight Corps

posted on X.
At least four such infiltration bids have been thwarted in the Poonch-Rajouri region since late May this year, leading to deaths or capture of intruders. They included one on May 31 when three terrorists were caught in Poonch with a huge cache of arms, explosives and suspected heroin worth over Rs 100 crore.
