In an angry post on X, Shaadi.com CEO Anupam Mittal lashed out at IndiGo after two flights that he boarded this week were delayed. “This is inhumane and should be made illegal,” Mittal said as he tagged the official account of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) India in his post on X. IndiGo, meanwhile, has reacted to Mittal’s post by issuing an apology.

In his complaint against IndiGo, Mittal said that his flight from Mumbai to Delhi was delayed by 45 minutes – passengers had to wait in the aircraft while the AC was switched off. His flight from Delhi to Mumbai was also delayed by two hours.

“Kya ho gaya tumko @IndiGo6E Mum-Delhi > 45 minute delay on tarmac without AC so you can keep costs down. Del-Mum > 2 hr delay but will not refund the ticket. @DGCAIndia this is inhumane and should be made illegal,” the Shark Tank India judge said in his post on February 7.

IndiGo, in the meantime, responded to Mittal’s post while offering an explanation apart from an apology.

“Mr Mittal, we extend our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience caused by the delay of your morning flight from Mumbai, which was inadvertently delayed by 30 minutes due to unforeseen traffic congestion,” IndiGo said.

“Additionally, we regret to inform you that the delay on the Delhi-Mumbai route was a result of an unexpected medical emergency on the incoming flight. Please rest assured that we understand the importance of your time and the impact such delays can have on your travel plans,” IndiGo added.

IndiGo made headlines earlier this week as well after a video of passengers singing the bhajan 'Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram' on one of their flights went viral on social media.
