CHANDIGARH: President of

Indian Overseas Congress

USA Mohinder Singh Gilzian on Friday met Congress leaders

Sonia Gandhi

and

Rahul Gandhi

and discussed the issues being faced by

overseas Indians

. He also opposed any move to have an alliance with AAP in Punjab.
He also submitted a report on the five rallies held by Rahul in the USA earlier this year and discussed the future plans to get more support from NRI Indians.

He said that the people living abroad are willing to get Congress into power again; they will come in large numbers to support the party in elections.
Gilzian discussed the present political situation in Punjab and suggested avoiding any alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party. “The ruling party has lost the faith of the people and Congress has better prospects to win the elections alone,” he said. The congress leader also raised the issue of the OBC community getting no representation in general elections from Congress in Punjab for a long time. He conveyed that despite 32% share in the total population of Punjab, Congress has not pitched even a single candidate in the last four general elections.
