Indian-origin billionaire marries ex-wrestler in Egypt, private jet for guests

Bilt Rewards CEO Ankur Jain and former WWE wrestler Erika Hammond got married on Friday (April 26), in front of the Great Pyramids in Egypt.

The lavish wedding ceremony in Cairo also saw a 130-person guest list, including some of the biggest celebrities, like Lance Bass, Michael Turchin, Robin Thicke, 'Shark Tank' investor Kevin O'Leary and his wife, Linda, influencer Serena Kerrigan, and more, according to a report with Page Six.

The two assured their guests were transported to the Cairo wedding venue on a private Egypt Air flight, from the safari they brought them on in Africa.

Though their private jet was briefly halted by the South African government, they were eventually able to pull off their welcome event three hours late.

The couple had partied till dawn the previous night, Jain told the American weekly magazine People.

"We partied until 5 am having just the best opening night," the 34-year-old groom said.

The event, which was held at the Muhammed Ali Palace, had a 'Modern Cairo' theme and featured belly and fire dancers.

Photos on Instagram posted by Erika showed the couple partying with guests, and Erika indulging in some luxurious makeup sessions.

THE COUPLE HAD PLANNED TO GET MARRIED IN SPACE

The report suggested Jain had originally planned to get married in space. However, the plan was put down after Erika wasn't very keen on the same.

Commenting on the celebrations, 32-year-old Erika told People that she had not seen the venue ahead of the ceremony.

"I had no idea what the napkins looked like or what the table setting looked like," she said.

Meanwhile, Jain said, "We're not traditional wedding people. Why do you have to spend $20,000 on flowers? It doesn't make sense."

The couple broke the contemporary and had no bridal party, and no wedding cake, the report said. They reportedly left most of the planning process up to their coordinators.

"We're New Yorkers and there’s something so special about being in a completely different world environment," 34-year-old Jain told American weekly magazine People, following their nuptials.

"So we decided, our wedding is about having a moment together to celebrate the new beginning, having a really special party with our friends somewhere where you're in a different world," he said.

Following the ceremony, Jain, in an Instagram post, thanked his guests for joining him and Erika.

The couple met at Rumble Boxing, where Hammond is a founding member, the report said.
