India vs USA, T20 WC: Are there any chances of rain?

5 months ago 16

Rain gods visited the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York when India played Pakistan on June 9, but according to the weather forecast for Wednesday (June 12), there is minimal to no chance of any such interruptions when co-hosts USA take on Rohit Sharma-led India at the same venue.
Rain held up proceedings twice in the India vs Pakistan match, where overcast skies welcomed the two teams to the stadium.

But weather is expected to be clear on Wednesday when the US team will aim for another upset, having won both their matches so far in Group A.

T20 WORLD CUP: Schedule | Points Table

According to accuweather.com, New York on June 12 will experience 'partly sunny and pleasant day', with a cloud cover of 33% in the morning and 45% in the afternoon. The match begins 10:30 am (local time), which is 8 pm in India.
USA began the tournament with a win over neighbours Canada and followed it up with their biggest win in international cricket, when they stunned 2009 T20 World Cup winners Pakistan in a 'Super Over' finish. It took them to the top of Group A.

However, India displaced USA from the top position by beating Paksitan in a thrilling finish by six runs. It was the second win of the tournament for India as well, having hammered Ireland in their opener by six wickets.
The team winning the match on Wednesday will qualify for the 'Super 8', leaving the remaining four teams to fight for the second qualification spot from the group.
