India will take on Canada in their final Group A game of T20 World Cup 2024 on Saturday, June 15 in Lauderhill, Florida. The 2007 champions will look to end their run in the group stage with an unbeaten run and carry the winning momentum into the Super 8s.

India have the opportunity to test their bench strength as they have already sealed their place in the Super 8s. However, it remains to be seen if Rohit Sharma's men will be willing to make changes ahead of the crunch phase of the T20 World Cup.

India played all their three games so far in the World Cup in New York. The Nassau County Cricket Ground pitch was a nightmare for batters as no team posted more than 150 in the 8 games played at the makeshift 34,000-seater. India batters, who are in the XI, will be looking forward to getting a good hit at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Florida.

WILL VIRAT KOHLI DROP TO NO. 3?

More importantly, India seem to have picked a XI from their 15, keeping in mind the conditions in the Caribbean where the Super 8s stage will be played. The very decision to give Virat Kohli the opening spot along with Rohit Sharma was to find a place for Shivam Dube, who is capable of taking down spinners.

Virat Kohli may not have troubled the scores much in New York, having managed just 5 runs in 3 games. However, the former captain is likely to retain his spot at the top of the order. Yashasvi Jaiswal might have to wait for his chances as India are unlikely to tinker with their batting combination.

"I think they’ve got to stick with it as you just said if you do make changes on top, Virat Kohli has to come in the order a little bit lower and that’s going to upset things there,” legendary Brian Lara said in the lead-up to India's match against Canada.

Rishabh Pant seems to be at home at the No. 3 spot, while Suryakumar Yadav's fifty at No. 4 against the USA on a difficult New York pitch erased doubts over his ability to play at a different gear.

On the other hand, India would want to try out a wrist-spinner -- Kuldeep Yadav in place of an extra pacer of a spinner. The pitches in the Caribbean have been conducive to spin-bowling and India might play 3 spinners. Mohammed Siraj might make way for Kuldeep as Arshdeep Singh, India’s leading wicket-taker, seems to be ahead of the RCB pacer in the pecking list. Even if India drop Siraj, they have three pacers in Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep and Hardik Pandya and a part-timer in Shivam Dube.

On the other hand, Canada will look to field their strongest XI for their final match of the campaign.

INDIA VS CANADA PREDICTED XI

India: Rohit Sharma (Captain), Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah.

Canada: Aaron Johnson, Navneet Dhaliwal, Pargat Singh, Nicholas Kirton, Shreyas Movva (wk), Ravinderpal Singh, Saad Bin Zafar (captan), Dillon Heyliger, Kaleem Sana, Junaid Siddiqui, Jeremy Gordon.
