With Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) top order doing fairly well so far in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024,
Rinku Singh
hasn't had enough time in the middle to showcase the finishing skills that turned him into an IPL sensation last season. And former India batsman
Sanjay Manjrekar
feels it should not be a reason to not award Rinku a place in India's
T20 World Cup
squad.
IPL 2024: RESULTS | POINTS TABLE
In five innings he has played so far this season, Rinku has scored 83 runs and faced only 51 balls, with a highest of 26.
"Because he's not getting many opportunities, I hope selectors won't forget about Rinku Singh," Manjrekar told Firstpost.
"He's a straight walk-in into the Indian team. Every time he has got the opportunity, you've seen how good he can be, in the sense of his consistency and the range that he has. He's somebody who I like, apart from the core of the Indian team, apart from the big names we are thinking about".

Rinku's finishing skills earned him an India call-up for white-ball series in Ireland last year, where he made his international debut in a T20. Since then, he has featured in 15 T20Is and scored 356 runs, including two fifties, at a strike rate of 176.25. He has also played two ODIs.
Former champions KKR are currently number two on the IPL 2024 points table with four wins in six matches.
