India's
T20 World Cup
squad is expected to be announced by the BCCI before the end of this month, and the interest around that transcends boundaries, which shows in the words of former Jamaican sprinter
Yohan Blake
.
The T20 World Cup is scheduled to be co-hosted by the USA and the West Indies from June 2 to 29, and Blake, who is a known cricket fan, is undoubtedly looking forward to the tournament and watching the Indian team play in the Caribbean islands.
However, India, who begin their campaign on June 5, play all the group matches in the US.
Blake, who is perhaps also keeping a close eye on the ongoing Indian Premier League, believes that such is talent pool in India that the BCCI can send three teams to the T20 World Cup.
"Currently, it is incredibly challenging to select the Indian T20 World Cup team due to the immense talent pool available. There are so many talented Indian players that it seems like they could potentially send three teams to the World Cup," Blake wrote on microblogging website 'X'.
India are placed alongside Pakistan, Ireland, Canada and the United States in Group A. After kicking off the campaign against Ireland on June 5 in New York, India will play archrivals Pakistan on June 9 at the same venue - Nassau County International Cricket Stadium.
That will follow India's match against the co-hosts US on June 12 in New York as well, followed by the concluding group fixture against Canada at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida.
