NEW DELHI: Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal chief minister
Mamata Banerjee
on Tuesday proposed that Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge should be made the PM face for INDIA bloc, MDMK leader Vaiko told reporters.
The suggestion, floated during the fourth meeting of the bloc, in New Delhi, was supported by Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal.
Kharge reportedly replied that the alliance should first win before coming to any decision.
Talking to reporters, Kejriwal said: "The meeting was good. The campaigning, seat sharing and everything will begin soon. No convenor has been selected yet."
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MP Mahua Maji said: "The main discussion was regarding seat sharing. Some leaders wanted to have the seat sharing before January 1. Discussions regarding the face of the Prime Minister were also done. No final decision was taken ... Everyone said that PM's face will be decided after winning the elections."
