India play their final group stage match at the T20 World Cup 2024 vs Canada. The match is set to be played on June 14, Saturday, at Lauderhill, Florida. The match might be heavily affected by rain as Florida has been coping with a flood situation. There was a lot of downpour in the past few days and the wet patches in the ground did not clear out by Friday afternoon.

There is more rain expected on Friday evening, just before India take on Canada. The Indian team did practice in the training facility in Florida, however, it is not known if they had a chance to visit the main ground on not.

There are predictions for rain both in morning and in the match hours on Saturday. In fact the prediction gets worse as the day continues at Lauderhill in Florida.

In case the match is washed out, it will not have an effect on position of either teams as India have already qualified for the Super 8 positions and Canada do not have a chance to qualify for the next stage.

International Cricket Council have been criticised by the fans for the scheduling as Florida is currently going through cyclone weather. Right before the start of the T20 World Cup 2024, Florida had faced massive storms.

Fans had demanded the ICC to shift the T20 World Cup 2024 matches out of Florida after flash floods warning in the city. Notably, heavy rainfall in South Florida on Wednesday, June 12 left several streets flooded disrupting the life of the citizens.

Several Images and videos of water logging in the city surfaced on social media showing roads filled with water. With heavy rain and flood warnings issued, fans demanded the ICC to shift the remaining games scheduled in Florida to New York or Dallas.
