NEW YORK (PIX11) – A smoke shop in Manhattan was selling illegal marijuana products that contained fentanyl and traces of cocaine, officials said.

The New York City Sheriff's Office inspected the shop at 927 Second Avenue to check if they were selling illegal tobacco products. They found illegal tobacco, e-cigarettes, and cannabis products that also tested positive for other illicit substances, police sources said.

“The Adams administration is using every tool available to protect New Yorkers from dangerous, illegal products found in unlicensed smoke shops,” said New York City Sheriff Anthony Miranda. “We are doing everything in our power to protect our children and communities from this dangerous drug, and we have shut down this shop and arrested the person selling the products at the time of inspection.”

The sheriff's office also arrested the person selling the products at the time of the inspection and padlocked the store again.

The store named "2nd Ave Convenience” had been closed and padlocked by the city multiple times, officials said.
