Big E
.
In a surprising turn of events, Holland, who previously accidentally injured Big E in March 2022, made an appearance on the show, expressing a desire for redemption. Holland then challenged NXT Champion
Ilja Dragunov
to a match, which culminated in a main event that took an unexpected turn.
During the highly-anticipated clash between Holland and Dragunov, the match abruptly came to a halt as Dragunov appeared to suffer an injury.
The situation escalated when Dragunov was taken out of the arena on a stretcher, echoing the real-life incident involving Big E earlier in the year.
Given the history between Holland and Big E, the injury angle immediately drew criticism and sparked discussions within the wrestling community.

of Fightful (via Fightful Select), the storyline capitalizing on Holland's previous history with Big E has been labeled as "a bit controversial" by some within WWE.
Brennan also cited sources within NXT, stating that despite the controversy, those involved in the production seemed satisfied with the overall performance and the reaction the angle garnered from the audience.
