IKEA 'meeting point' coming to Fifth Avenue in Midtown: What to know

MIDTOWN, Manhattan (PIX11) – A new version of IKEA is coming to Midtown's Fifth Avenue after its parent company, Ingka, invested in a retail tower, it was announced on Monday.

The tower will be built at 570 Fifth Ave. in partnership with mega city developer Extell. The project is a one-million-square-foot mixed-use building that will offer an IKEA customer "meeting point" – a new concept that offers tailored support for customers making larger and more complex purchases.

The building is slated to open for commercial tenants sometime in 2028.
