NEW JERSEY (PIX11) – Officials are warning residents to take extra precautions when traveling Tuesday morning as snow continues to fall across the tri-state area.
Icy roads were reported on I-80 in New Jersey. Slick, wet road conditions were also seen on Long Island.
The New Jersey Department of Transportation said the worst of this storm is yet to come and encouraged commuters to stay home if possible.
A winter weather advisory is in effect through early afternoon for much of the tri-state area. Folks can expect light snow to continue through early afternoon before tapering off by the evening. Temperatures will be near the freezing mark with a high of 33 in New York City and in the low to mid-30s in the suburbs.
