, started her campaign in the assembly constituency on Thursday. She said that there will be no let-up in the development of Dehra and every problem of the assembly constituency will be solved by the Chief Minister.
She said that Dehra is her “mayka” (maternal home) and no daughter can lag behind in the development of her home. She said that the angry Congressmen of Dehra will be convinced and pacified.
On her arrival in the constituency, the Congress workers welcomed Kamlesh Thakur at places like Haar, Naihanpukhar, Dhaliara, Chanaur, Dosadka, Hanuman Mandir Chowk Dehra, Bankhandi etc. The Congress candidate met people after offering prayers at Lakshmi Narayan Temple in Chanaur and Maa Baglamukhi Temple in Bankhandi. She sought support for himself in the elections from the people of Dehra.
While referring to the Congress dissident leader Rajesh Sharma, she said that Rajesh Sharma is her brother and she prays for his speedy recovery. She said that if he has any differences, that will be resolved. The people of Dehra want change and there is a lot of enthusiasm among Congress workers about the by-elections, she added.
She said that due to the sale of former independent MLA of Dehra to BJP, the burden of this by-election has fallen on the public. She said that an independent MLA does not have any party, he could have worked for the public even by remaining neutral, but he has betrayed the people of Dehra by resigning from the post after only 14 months. “He did not get any development done in Dehra in 14 months,” she alleged.
Kamlesh Thakur said that the
Chief Minister
gave a zoological park in Bankhandi under Dehra, created a police district and gave the Superintending Engineer office of PWD. Even before this, the Chief Minister had given many gifts to Dehra. She said that the former independent MLA has cheated the people of Dehra. She said that the Chief Minister had held talks with the Central Government on the issue of Eco Sensitive Zone, only after that orders were issued to maintain the status quo.
She said that the people of Dehra want development and only Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will do development in Dehra. The public is not going to get trapped in BJP's politics of lies, she said.
