Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s fanbase never misses an opportunity to express their admiration for the two cricketing icons. A heart-warming video surfaced, showing Rohit signing an autograph for a devoted fan who had been waiting patiently for a glimpse of him. The moment unfolded as Rohit returned from an intense training session at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. On his way to the dressing room, he was warmly greeted by enthusiastic fans. Rohit graciously obliged a fan’s request for an autograph and even agreed to convey a special message on her behalf. During their brief interaction, the fan asked Rohit to pass along a message to Virat Kohli, saying, “Tell him his biggest fan came here.” Rohit smiled and assured her that he would deliver the message to Virat.

India's lost 1st Test

India suffered a rare defeat on home soil as New Zealand secured their first Test victory in India after 36 years. The opening Test in Bengaluru got off to a disastrous start for the hosts, with captain Rohit Sharma misreading the pitch conditions and electing to bat first under cloudy skies.

The decision backfired, as India was bowled out for just 46—their lowest-ever Test score at home. Five key batters, including Virat Kohli, Sarfaraz Khan, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin, were dismissed for ducks in a stunning collapse.

Despite a shaky start, India fought hard in the second innings to erase New Zealand's commanding 356-run lead. Sarfaraz Khan’s brilliant 150 and Rishabh Pant’s gritty 99 anchored the comeback, with Virat Kohli (70) and Rohit Sharma (52) chipping in with half-centuries. However, the hosts could only manage a 106-run lead, leaving New Zealand a modest target of 107, which they chased comfortably with eight wickets in hand.

This loss puts Rohit Sharma's side on the brink of losing a home Test series for the first time in 11 years. With three wins still required to secure a spot in their third consecutive World Test Championship (WTC) final, India will be desperate to bounce back. They need to win two of the remaining matches against New Zealand to preserve their impeccable home record.

The second Test of the series is scheduled to begin on Thursday, October 24, at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
