NEW DELHI: Chennai Super Kings'
Ravindra Jadeja
on Monday became the fifth fielder to complete 100 catches in the Indian Premier League.
With a couple of sharp takes in the clash against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Chepauk, Jadeja got to the milestone.
As Jadeja joined the likes of Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Kieron Pollard and Rohit Sharma, the gun fielder came up with a witty response while being asked to react to the feat.
"I don't count my catches," Jadeja responded to commentator Harsha Bhogle's query with a smile during the mid-innings break.
Jadeja also worked his magic with the ball, taking three wickets in a space of eight balls to rip the heart out of KKR's batting as CSK were left to chase a manageable target of 138.
Alongside Jadeja, Tushar Deshpande picked up a three-fer while Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman produced superb figures of 4-0-22-2.
Jadeja lauded team's all-round effort with the ball, pointing out that he and others got assistance from the surface.
"He (Mustafizur) was very effective on this wicket, he bowled very good slower ones, he was amazing I think. When dew comes in the wicket changes here, it gets better for batting. There was slow turn, it's not a rank turner. The ball wasn't coming on to the bat nicely, just tried to target the stumps. If we play normal cricket, I think very easily chaseable on this wicket," Jadeja added.
CSK have had two wins and a couple of defeats in the IPL season so far.
