NEW YORK (PIX11) -- New York City model Adam Byrd is speaking out after a brutal attack that left him with a broken jaw.
It happened outside of Little Sister Lounge in the East Village.
“I can feel the braces and the screws,” Byrd said.
His jaw was broken, and he also lost several teeth.
To make matters worse he said the lounge security staff watched the attack and did nothing to help him. It happened last month, Byrd and a friend went to the lounge on business, and once they walked out a group of men attacked them.
His chain was also stolen, and his friend's Rolex watch was taken.
Byrd remembers asking the lounge security for help even after he took a beating.
“They saw this happening and didn’t do anything; I could have died,” Byrd said.
At one point he ran down the street and flagged down a car, it was the police, he said.
The 33-year-old hired attorney Anthony Sears and is planning to file a lawsuit against the lounge.
Sears said they had a responsibility and duty to make sure people inside, outside, and on the sidewalk were safe.
Byrd and Sears want to see the staff involved fired and he’d be accountable for their lack of care and concern.
More importantly, they do not want to see this happen to anyone else.
Police are still looking for the men responsible, they say the attack was caught on surveillance video.
