Amid several incidents of IAS officers indulging in malpractices, 2021 batch Indian Foreign Service officer
Jyoti Mishra
said she was being trolled on social media as people mistook her as another Jyoti Mishra who reportedly changed her caste to SC for becoming an IAS officer. IFS officer Jyoti who is currently on probation as third secretary in the Indian embassy in Madrid, said she qualified UPSC 2021 with a rank of 432 in the second list.
She said she was a general candidate and not SC, as social media is pillorying attacks on her.
"I'm a general candidate who qualified UPSC 2021 with 432 rank in second list. The Jyoti who secured 432 rank in first list is IAS from reserve seat. She hails from Mahendragarh, Haryana, whereas I hail from Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh. I became civil servant with hard work and fair way. Will take legal action against those who will continue to harm my reputation," IFS officer Jyoti Mishra said.
Trainee IAS officer
Puja Khedkar
has come on the radar after she demanded separate office space, an official vehicle etc. It was later found out that Khedkar misused the OBC quota and Persons with Benchmark Disability provision to secure a position in the civil service.
Following this,
Abhishek Singh
-- a 2011 batch IAS officer who resigned last year -- came under fire for a similar allegation that he claimed to have a locomotor disability during the UPSC selection but now he posts gym videos.
