Have you deleted any of the posts, stories, or reels by mistake? Now you could not find it or restore it back. Don't scratch your head; it is possible to
recover deleted content on Instagram
, but it can be a distressing experience. Fortunately, there are two primary methods for retrieving lost posts, stories, or reels. These methods are the '
Archive
' and '
Recently Deleted
' features.
Sometimes, there are chances that you could have archived the post or reel and stories archives after 24 hours. So, check the Archives first. Archiving merely removes content from public view, storing it privately for the user. Conversely, deleted content gets transferred to the 'Recently Deleted' folder before final removal, offering a safety net for accidental deletions.
Check for the deleted posts, stories, or reels in the Archives
- Open the Instagram app and head over to the profile page.
- Tap the three horizontal lines (hamburger menu) and select "Archive."
- Explore your archived posts and stories. If the content was archived rather than deleted, you can unarchive and repost it easily.
Restore from the Recently Deleted folder
- In your profile, go to the hamburger menu and tap on "Settings."
- Select "Account" and then "Recently Deleted."
- Here, you'll find posts and stories deleted within the last 30 days.
- Choose the content you wish to restore and tap "Restore" to bring it back to your profile.
It's essential to understand the purpose of the 'Recently Deleted' folder. When content is deleted, Instagram stores it in this folder for up to 30 days before permanently removing it from the platform. After this period, deleted content becomes irretrievable. This folder acts as a temporary holding space for deleted material, offering a window for potential recovery.
To recover content from the 'Recently Deleted' folder, users can navigate to it, choose the deleted story, post, or reel they wish to recover and tap "Restore." This action reinstates the chosen content back onto their profile, preventing its permanent deletion.
