Unwanted Commercial Communication (UCC), often recognized as spam in the mobile domain, poses a significant nuisance for users in India. Fortunately, the Sanchar Saathi portal emerges as a solution, presenting diverse approaches to report and address
spam calls
and messages effectively. Here's an overview of various channels available for reporting and complaining spam calls and messages, including the TRAI DND App, short code messaging, direct calls, and the official web portal.
Through SMS
Compose a message with details of the unwanted communication and send it to the short code 1909.
Through Call
Dial the number 1909 to directly register your complaint or report any unsolicited communication. Follow the voice prompts during the call to complete the process.
Web Portal
Visit the official web portal for reporting UCC or spam and authenticate yourself with a One Time Password (OTP). Provide the necessary information, such as the mode of communication and sender details, to register your complaint.
DND 3.0 App
Download the DND 3.0 App, which allows you to register complaints and block unsolicited commercial communications.
Telecom Service Provider (TSP)

Important information that you can’t miss
Complaints that are those lodged within three days from the occurrence of UCC/Spam are considered valid. These complaints undergo a comprehensive investigation and may result in actions being taken against the senders. For instance, if you received UCC/Spam on January 15, 2024, it is necessary to file a complaint before January 18, 2024. Complaints made beyond this three-day window are classified as 'Reports.' While these reports may not trigger direct action against the sender, they contribute to the proactive identification of spammers.
