How to contact your local New York City politician

5 months ago 10

NEW YORK (PIX11) -- You hear it all the time around election season: if you want something to change, you need to contact your local representatives; that leaves the question, how do you find out your local politicians' contact information to reach out?

Luckily for New Yorkers, it is not too difficult to find. The New York State Assembly and the New York Senate both have websites dedicated to finding your representatives.

The websites are fairly straightforward. Just navigate to either website and enter your address. Once you put in your address, your assembly member or senator will be pulled up. From there, you can view your representative's news, contact information and even sign up for emails.

You can contact your representative to make sure they know what is important to you, allowing them to bring it up to the correct channels. This could be anything from affordable housing and congestion pricing to issues with your local city park.
