A day after the

consecration ceremony

in Ayodhya,

temple trust treasurer

Swami Govind Dev Giri said he felt a rush of motherly love while offering '

charanamrit

' to

PM Modi

to break his 11-day

fast

, reports Shailvee Sharda. "I felt motherly love at that time, as if I was offering it to my son and breaking his fast," the seer told reporters on Tuesday.

Giri said arrangements had been made to serve honey-lemon water to the PM to break the fast, but he asked for 'charanamrit' (leftover water offered to a deity).
Praising Modi for the "extreme penance" he went through, to prepare himself for the Pran Pratishtha, Giri said: "We told him to follow upvaas for three days, but he observed uposhan (total abstinence from foodgrain) for 11 days. On his own, he went on a journey to holy places to achieve the highest levels of piety."
