NEW YORK (PIX11)—From helping a homeless pregnant woman off the streets and changing her life to highlighting a New Jersey mom’s small business, PIX11’s Monica Morales is making it happen for our viewers.
Jessica Middleton inspired PIX11’s viewers.
Morales first met her 14 years ago. Middleton was homeless and pregnant, sleeping on a park bench. Now, Middleton is thriving. Middleton was seven months pregnant, homeless, and sleeping on a park bench.
Morales was seven months pregnant, too.
PIX11 News linked Middleton with an organization called Good Counsel. They immediately helped her and her baby.
Morales visits her every year.
Middleton’s life has completely changed.
She has two children and works as a teacher's aide. She says her life is good. This year, there is more good news. Middleton moved into a new two-bedroom apartment in the Bronx.
Next, the last time viewers see Madelyn Colon, she is in between carpools, making deliveries for her small baking business.
Bethpage Credit Union, soon to be FourLeaf Federal Credit Union, was watching and wanted her to apply to their “ Money Like a Woman” campaign.
They are honoring and supporting women-led businesses by sponsoring digital ads on their Bethboards.
