Helicopter makes emergency landing in Staten Island parking lot: police

SOUTH BEACH, Staten Island (PIX11) -- A helicopter pilot made an emergency landing in a parking lot on Staten Island Wednesday evening, police said.

The private charter helicopter experienced mechanical issues, forcing the 40-year-old pilot to land in a parking lot at Father Capodanno Boulevard and Sand Lane in South Beach around 7:30 p.m., according to the NYPD.

No injuries were reported.
