Heatwave conditions are expected to prevail in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Jharkhand, and Odisha, as well as in Jammu, and Chandigarh as the maximum temperature is predicted to rise for the next five days starting from today, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Meanwhile, heavy to very heavy rainfall is anticipated over West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh till Friday.
As per the forecast, the maximum temperature is expected to rise by a considerable margin of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. However, these variations are expected to be felt more in the Northwest and Central India, with Central India likely to experience the maximum hike in mercury levels.
