HCLTech has reportedly asked its employees to report to office thrice a week, failing which they will have to face disciplinary action as per company policy. The date for the same is starting coming Monday, February 19.

is not the first company to ask employees to work from the office. Over the last few months, IT giants Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys and Wipro have asked employees to work from office five days a week, ten days a month, and three days a week, respectively.
In a memo sent recently, TCS gave its last 'warning' to employees to resume 5 days a week from office.
The company has given employees March end as the last deadline for returning to office. "Failure to resume work from office (WFO) by then will lead to consequences," chief operating officer NG Subramaniam has said.
What HCL Tech's global HR head's email to employees says
“All DFS (Digital Foundation Services) employees, irrespective of their band (E0 and above), will be required to work from their designated HCLTech offices for a minimum of three days a week,” according says the email sent by HCLTech's global head – people function DFS, Vikas Sharma to his team on Wednesday, an employee confirmed. "Effective February 19, 2024, the same hybrid work model will be applicable to all employees of Digital Foundation Services, including E0 to E3,” the email further read.
Employees have also reportedly being warned in HR meetings that failure to report to office could meet with necessary action as per company policy.
Freshers to work from office all 5 days a week
The company has made working from office all five days compulsory for freshers and entry-level employees. "Freshers and entry level employees undergoing on-the-job training will be required to work from the office on all five days," said the report.
3 days work from office mandate likely for all employees across divisions
While it is not clear if all employees have received such an email, the mandate to report to the office is likely to be implemented across divisions, as per the report. The E0 to E3 employees are in the entry to senior manager levels from 1-10 years of experience. While, E4 plus is mid management and above the band of employees.
Noida-headquartered HCLTech's senior managers and the leadership team are reported to have already started working on the hybrid mode of work and coming to office at least three days a week, as per the email. Respective reporting managers are also asked to update the shift schedule for all employees on the “SMM Portal.”
