MIDTOWN, Manhattan (PIX11) – Monday is the first work day in New York City since congestion pricing went into effect over the weekend.
Cars with E-ZPasses coming into Manhattan at or below 60th Street will now be charged a $9 once-daily toll between 5 a.m. and 9 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends. If you're driving in during off-peak hours, you'll have to pay $2.25.
But if you believe there is an issue with how your toll was processed, like if you were double charged, who do you call?
Anyone with toll issues is asked to call the E-ZPass Customer Service Center at 1-800-333-TOLL (8655), according to the MTA.
You also won't see the charge for the congestion pricing toll on your E-ZPass account the same day you went through the license plate reader, according to the MTA.
The MTA reminded drivers to update or create E-ZPass accounts before the toll went into effect. Drivers without an E-ZPass or who haven't linked their license plate to their account will be charged an extra 50% on top of the toll, according to the agency.
