Haryana police says, hooligans under guise of protest provoking, orders intelligence to keep eye on social media

AMBALA: Releasing some video footage,

Haryana police

on Friday said that the

hooligans

under the guise of

protest

are provoking them at Shambhu and Data Singh Wala borders with Punjab, despite the announcement of staying calm by farmer leaders.
Haryana police shared video visuals of both the borders on its X platform.
Regarding Shambhu border, Haryana police said, “Despite the assurance of peaceful protest at Shambhu border with Punjab, continuous efforts are being made by the protesters to provoke the policemen. Appeal of Haryana Police – cooperate in maintaining law and order.”
In its X post, Ambala police said, “Despite repeated appeals by the police administration, some miscreants are creating mischief at the Shambhu border under the guise of farmers’ protest.”

Meanwhile, Ambala SP Jashandeep Singh Randhawa ordered police officers to keep strict vigil on

social media

and electronic media to check fake and provoking news and posts. The SP said that the fake videos can be a part of a conspiracy to mislead and instigate the public. The SP has asked the

intelligence

wing to remain on high alert to check for fake news in the media.
