1 year ago 15

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar resigned Tuesday morning after meeting Governor Bandaru Dattareya. Mr Khattar's resignation - followed immediately by the entire cabinet - comes amid speculation of a split in the ruling alliance over seat-sharing agreements for the 2024 Lok Sabha election.

Sources have also said the senior BJP leader, in a surprise move, could contest from Karnal.

Sources also said the BJP, which is the single largest party in the 90-member Assembly with 40 seats, is confident of forming the government with support from independent MLAs. Till now the BJP was ruling after a post-poll alliance with Dushyant Chautala's JJP.
