will be taking over the captaincy for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Pandya, known for his dynamic all-round abilities, will succeed
Rohit Sharma
, who led Mumbai Indians to five IPL titles since assuming captaincy midway through the 2013 season.
Pandya's leadership credentials were showcased during his two-year stint with the Gujarat Titans, where he guided the team to successive IPL finals.
His return to the Mumbai Indians setup is marked by the added responsibility of captaining the squad.
Mahela Jayawardene, Global Head of Performance for Mumbai Indians, shared insights into the decision, stating, "It is part of legacy building and staying true to the MI philosophy of being future-ready.
