'Guard your heart': Free heart screenings given out in Harlem

NEW YORK (PIX11) – A nonprofit from Texas stopped in Harlem on Saturday to give out free heart screenings.

Tara Robinson suffered three heart attacks over a seven-day period back in 2014. The third one nearly killed her.

She decided to do her part after recovering and raise awareness about heart disease in the Black community. Robinson and her husband founded the Black Heart Association.

The duo travels to different cities to give free heart screenings as part of the Guard Your Heart Tour.

The group has a goal to give free health screenings to 2,500 people by the end of the year.
