MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) -- Two NYPD officers were attacked by a group while trying to place a man in custody in Manhattan, according to police and the melee was captured on surveillance footage.
Around 8:30 p.m. on Jan 27. officers tried to clear away a group that was standing in front of the Chandler Building on West 42nd Street. NYPD officials said when the two officers tried to detain a man, multiple unknown people swarmed the officers and started to punch and kick them repeatedly in the head and body.
The attackers ran away on foot, heading east on W. 42nd Street. The officers had minor injuries and received treatment at the scene.
