NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Move those legs side to side to your nearest 7-Eleven for free Slurpee Day!
The annual giveaway, rightfully falling on July 11, celebrates the birthday of 7-Eleven convenience stores. This year marks the company’s 97th anniversary and they’re celebrating with a limited edition MTN DEW Freedom Fusion Slurpee flavor.
The convenience store has invited customers to cool off with their famous frozen drinks as part of their birthday celebrations since 2002. As part of Slurpee Day, the promotion is also made available at Speedway and Stripes stores.
This year, the company teamed up with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, releasing Slurpee cups designed by one of its patients.
Small Slurpee cups will feature designs by Nolan, a seven-year-old previously diagnosed with retinoblastoma cancer. The condition targets the retina and caused Nolan to have his left eye surgically removed at the age of three. Despite the challenges, Nolan calls his prosthetic eye, his “superhero eye” and has since completed chemotherapy treatments.
More information can be found on 7-Eleven’s website about how to score a second free small Slurpee through the end of the month.
