HYDERABAD: The

Revanth Reddy

govt plans to release a

white paper

on

irrigation projects

in the

assembly

in a day or two.
Speaking in the assembly ahead of the ministers' and MLAs' visit to Medigadda project on Tuesday, Revanth stated there would be detailed discussions on the irrigation projects. "In 2008,

Congress govt

had issued a tender for the 38,500 crore for

Pranahita Chevella Project

. By reworking the project, the BRS govt changed its design and revised estimates to 1,47,000 crore. There is a necessity to discuss the vigilance report in the assembly," he added.
The chief minister said there was a need to review the vigilance report on the damage to the Medigadda barrage. "BRS claimed that shifting of sand led to cracks in the barrage. But they did not allow anyone to inspect it, our govt ordered a vigilance inquiry and a report has been submitted. It is the responsibility of every member of the legislature to know what caused the damage," he added.
Inviting BRS leaders, including former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) to accompnay him to the Medigadda site, he said, "Let us go to visit Medigadda barrage. I appeal to KCR and BRS MLAs to visit Medigadda and explain the miracles you have created. Please describe how you built a wonder like Taj Mahal. Telangana citizens require access to accurate information. We must determine what happened there and who should be held accountable for the damage to Medigadda. If KCR is unable to travel by bus, we have arranged for him to view the barrage via helicopter."
Legislative affairs minister D Sridhar Babu, during the same short discussion, earlier said that Kaleswaram project has been reviewed in all aspects. A group of ministers had previously inspected Medigadda.
