Panaji: State govt, in a notfication issued on Thursday, announced amendments to several key
cultural schemes
, ensuring their continuity till March 31, 2025.
One of the more significant amendments pertains to the scheme to provide special
financial grants
for organising cultural events, which has been extended to cater to the state’s evolving cultural landscape.
This scheme aims to provide financial support to individuals and organisations engaged in holding cultural events.
In addition, the Financial Assistance to Revive, Preserve and Protect
Goan Maand Culture
, 2018 scheme has also been extended till 2025.
Various other schemes catering to different facets of Goa’s cultural landscape have also been extended.
Notable among these are schemes such as the
Kalakar Kritadnyata Nidhi
, the Scheme for Upliftment of
Utsavi Rangabhumi
of Goa, the Kala Sanman Scheme, 2006, the Kala Gaurav Puraskar Scheme, the State Cultural Award for Institutions, and the Scheme to Provide Assistance to Students Seeking Education Outside Goa in Any Field of Art and Culture, among others.
Each of these schemes offered by the state plays a crucial role in supporting artists, cultural organisations, educational initiatives, and cultural events across the state.
By providing financial assistance to those eligible, the schemes encourage initiatives aimed at reviving and preserving this distinct form of cultural expression.
